Primary Job Function: Responsible for installation of gas pipe in accordance with scope and building code.

Pay Scale: DOE

Work Hours: Monday through Friday, 7:00am-3:30pm, some overtime including evenings and weekends as needed. 

Required Qualifications:

  • Valid Driver's License
  • Insurable by company insurance carrier

  • Perform a variety of duties which may change often.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Adherence to Pyramid Heating and Cooling gas piping requirements including but not limited to: pipe routing, pipe sizing, pipe material use, inventory tracking and time reporting.
  • Knowledge of basic operation of piping systems.
  • Lay out, assemble, install, and maintain pipe systems, pipe supports and related piping for heating and cooling systems.
  • Measure, cut, and thread pipe to required angle, using hand and power tools or machines such as pipe cutters or pipe-threading machines.
  • Locate and mark the position of pipe installations, connections, passage holes, and fixtures in structures, using measuring instruments such a tape measure.
  • Fill pipes with air and observe pressure gauges to detect and locate leaks.
  • Cut openings in structures to accommodate pipes and pipe fittings, using hand and power tools.
  • Install pipe assemblies, fittings, valves, appliances etc, using hand and power tools.
  • Knowledge of the type of pipe, related materials, and equipment used in gas piping.
  • Ability to read residential house plans.
  • Ability to create and present gas schematics for inspection
  • Ability to operate thread cutting machine and associated hand tools of the pipe fitting industry.
  • Must be able to climb ladders and operate power drills safely
  • Ability to work in crawl spaces and attics.
  • Ability to cooperate with installation crews on the same project while remaining focused on gas pipe installation.
  • Understanding of pipe sizing charts and code language
  • Ability to keep distractions to a minimum and remain focused on gas pipe installation. This includes not being a distraction to fellow field or office employees.
  • Start to finish mentality that can see it on paper and then make it happen in the field.
  • Assure the workplace is safe and your fellow co-workers and yourself are working in a safe environment.
